Computer Tune-Up Service

What is a computer tune-up?
A computer tune-up is a service we perform to remove any malware or viruses to be found on your computer. We also scan for dead program links, errors in installed software or old "orphaned" files left behind by un-installed software. All Internet connected computers will have some of these items if they are not cleaned out from time to time. Any of these could cause your system to become unstable (crash often), have an increased number of pop-up ads, or run slow.
Are you seeing a lot of pop-up ads while surfing the internet lately? Have you noticed your computer getting slower, or crashing often? The most likely cause of these problems is a group of malicious programs know as malware. Malware is divided into adware and spyware. Both are at a minimum a nuscience to modern surfers world-wide, and at worst could be used to obtain person information from your system with out your knowledge, or take control of your system remotely. Either way it's not good.

Adware
Software that contains advertisements to make money for the companies who wrote (or had the program written). Many adware programs are legitimate, annoying, but legitimate. Unfortunately, not all adware provides a legitimate function other than advertising, and some of the adware programs with legitimate functions take their advertising methods to the extreme. Some adware programs open multiple pages that you don't want to view every time you open a page that you do. Advertising pop-ups selling dream vacations, flashing banners asking you to punch a crazy monkey, and fake warnings about critical updates for you computer are all everyday tactics of these types of programs. It can get so bad that the internet connection or your entire computer can become unusable.

Spyware
Goes a step further by collecting information about you and sending it to advertisers. This information can include things like the web sites you visit or the files you open. Some of it goes as far as attempting to discover bank accounts or credit card numbers and sending it to undisclosed recipients. Another words, this is stuff you don't want on your computer!

The biggest misconception about this software is that you have to go to "one of those" web sites to get it. Untrue!
Malware can come from any web site, and sometimes software you install as well, even commercially purchased from a regular bricks and mortar retail store. In most cases you would never know it is even on your system quietly doing its job.
